Geothermal energy is energy extracted from heat in the center of the Earth.

This energy comes from the early formation of the planet, from radioactive decay of minerals, and from solar energy absorbed at the Earth’s surface. In addition to economic value, the production of geothermal power does not generate any waste and does not pollute the environment. On the other hand, a geothermal power plant can operate continuously around the clock, regardless of climate factors such as solar energy, wind or ocean waves.

Vietnam has significant geothermal potential and can develop geothermal power plants. However, at present, Vietnam has only a few geothermal applications such as bathing, swimming pools, tourism, making iodized salt, livestock, medical treatment and mineral water bottling.

We build a geothermal plant, capacity 3 x 5MW = 15MW. With an area of ​​4,536 m2, this plant can drill 3 wells deep (to a depth of 2,500 – 3,000m) to get heat from the hot rock layer underground. Hot water from geothermal heat up to 200 degrees Celsius is used to generate electricity and produce heat, feed it to the power grid and provide heat to other plants.
